
The 73rd Jangpetkong Senso Mungdang (Jangpetkong Citizens Forum Conference) was held from January 31 to February 1, at Yimjenkimong village Mokokchung.
According to DIPR, minister for Higher & Technical Education, Temjen Imna Along Longkumer, and advisor Law & Justice, Border Affairs, Treasuries & Accounts, Dr. Longrineken, graced the conference as special guests.
Temjen Imna, on the inaugural day, asserted that Jangpetkong range has the potential to lead in every field. He called upon the gathering to rededicate themselves to the upliftment of Naga society in general. He also urged them to shun the habit of blaming one another which, he said, would only bring about disunity among the communities.
Earlier, a presidential address was delivered by Jangpetkong Senso Mungdang (JSM) president, Nungsangtoshi. Ex GB, Limameren Longshore exhorted the gathering. Jangpetkong Sensor Telongjem also presented a folk song.
On February 1, chief secretary & finance commissioner, Temjen Toy, as the main speaker, dwelt on the topic "An authentic and upright society", where he laid stress on issues like ill effects of illegal mining and misuse of social media. Toy urged the gathering to not be satisfied with past glories, but emulate the good example of their ancestors. Earlier, an exhortation speech was delivered by Dr. Panger Longchar and folk song was presented by Khar village Council.
Dr. Longrineken, as the special guest of the second day, highlighted various programs and developmental activities that have been implemented in the subdivision. He also shared some of his visions for economic prosperity of the area.
During the conference, office bearers for the next tenure were also nominated. The team will be led by Nungsangtoshi as president, Purtoshi as vice president, Chubatemsu as general secretary and Limasunep as the assistant general secretary.
