A Western Sumi Baptist Akukuhou Kuqhakulu (WSBAK) Revival Hour was held on February 10 at Kiyezu ‘B’ Village, Dimapur.
A press release from Western Sumi Baptist Akukuhou Kuqhakulu’s media cell stated that commissioner & secretary for Finance and Land Resources department, Y. Kikheto Sema, in his speech as speaker, said the Nagas had been organizing numerous revival hour programs.
However, the personal commitments and promises made to God at the venues fade away even as the events end. “Revival should first begin from our homes and neighbours,” he asserted adding that “it is important to reconcile with neighbours and God as well.”
Kikheto also wondered how many of the people gathered for the revival would still continue to carry on the revival. He observed that many people who commit to change themselves at revivals do not fulfil the commitments they make.
Speaking about the atmosphere that elections create, Kikheto was of the view that Nagaland needed revivals even during elections stating that the polls were a time when Christian principles were placed in the back burner. He indicated that Christian leaders should find time to organize similar revival hours even during times of electioneering given the fact that violence and hatred erupts regularly during such times.
Speaking to the youth, Kikheto urged youngsters to work and eat rather than remaining idle and becoming a liability in society.
He also spoke about the impending danger of Naga people becoming servants in their own land if they continued with the trend of allowing immigrants to take care of their fields, properties and all other works in the guise of employing labour initially, even though Nagas could do these works as well.
The revival hour was held from February 8 to 10 and attended by 160 Churches approximately, with a total of more than 7000 people.
