Induction training for ASHAs of Zunheboto

An induction training programme for newly inducted ASHAs was organized by District Health Society (DHS) Zunheboto from February 18 to 22.

A press release from CMO office, Zunheboto, district media officer, Shekho Sophie stated that ASHAs were trained on various skills and topics like classifying and management of fever and diarrhoea (HBNC), roles during VHND, intervention in cases of violence against women-case study, HIV and AIDS, malaria, MCTS and malnutrition. 
During the induction training, a short documentary on child health and “A step at a time” maternal health was also shown. Various IEC materials were distributed during the training. The ASHAs were then evaluated at the end of the training.
Dr. K. Akaho Sema, deputy chief medical officer, Zunheboto encouraged the ASHAs and said that they acted as a bridge between the ANM and the community.
The resources persons for the training were Kashili, ANM and Tozheli, ANM, DCM & ASHA coordinator. Altogether 21 ASHAs were inducted during the training.
