NEISSR observes ‘World Autism Day’

North East Institute of Social Sciences and Research (NEISSR) observed World Autism Day at NEISSR Conference Hall on Tuesday.

A press release by NEISSR stated that internationally acclaimed journalist, Anto Akkara, addressed the students as special guest in a programme organised by youth development specialization students.

In his address, Akkara, stated that positive attitude can change life and that a strong determination would define a person. He narrated the real life story of a boy from Assam, whose arms were amputated but whose attitude towards life was positive and beautiful. He also narrated the life story of a girl who was born without arms but possesses excellent computer skills of designing. 

Akkara said there should not be any excuses in life not to make it happen and give up. He then encouraged the students to pursue truth as it has the power to liberate.

At the programme, Ghupito from semester IV spoke on the concept and history of autism and also gave a video presentation on autism. The programme concluded with a prayer.
