4-lane contractor asked to ensure public safety

Highway Area Sumi Student’s Union (HASSU) has asked M/s T.K. Engineering Pvt Ltd., presently working on construction of four-lane between Purana Bazar, to provide adequate safety for commuters within the road stretch by strictly following directions for exercising quality work.

Stating this in a press statement, HASSU president Abovi K.Awomi expressed frustration at how soil dug were haphazardly dug all over without providing alternative route and thereby causing “immense hardship to the public” causing long hours traffic jam which resulted in losing hours of work time that indirectly affected economy.

HASSU also pointed out that despite various appeals made earlier by   sections of society over safety that , the firm was asked to provide for public, it failed to curb  dust pollution.

HASSU appealed to the firm to lessen inconvenience to public by undertaking construction work at night and at the same time, provide proper road signs and diversions at locations to avoid untoward accidents resulting in loss of life and material.

Highway Area Sumi Student’s Union  cautioned that  it will not bear any responsibility if untoward incident  took place   in the event o failure by the firm to comply with its direction. 

HASSU also appealed to land owners association and district administration to resolve the deadlock amicably at the earliest and allow development of the road without further delay.
