
East Dimapur Sumi Students’ Union (EDSSU) organised a felicitation programme for successful students of HSLC/HSSLC at NCRC (Sumi) church, Naharbari village, East Dimapur under the theme, “venturing forth courageously” on May 25.
A press release from EDSSU media cell stated that, Dr. Elika Assumi, assistant professor of English ICFAI University Dimapur as guest speaker congratulated the students and encouraged them to be courageous and understand one’s own weaknesses and strengths. She said that this will enable them to make the best choice and be ready to overcome any barriers in their future.
EDSSU president, Mughabeto Rochill also congratulated the students and gave away meritorious certificates to the successful students. He also encouraged the students who could not make it this time to prepare better for the next.
SSUNT: Sumi Students Union Niuland Town (SSUNT), held its 1st felicitation programme for the HSLC and HSSLC 2019 successful candidates at Sumi Baptist Church (SBC), Niuland town on May 26.
A press release by SSUNT information & publication secretary, SSUNT, Ester Kiho stated that, guest speaker Bohoto Aye, vice chairman, NATC, while congratulating the successful candidates also encouraged them to be more humble and work more harder. He told them to devote full dedication towards their studies and to bring more laurels towards the union as well as the society in their future endeavour.
T. Kavika, president, SSUNT appealed the parents to work hand in hand with the union in order to harvest excellent progress of the students’ community as well as the society. In this regard, he said that parents, teachers and union should play an equal role.
In the programme chaired by Loli, recorder was Nika V. Chishi, general secretary SSUNT, invocation by Lovi Tsakhalu, asst. pastor children, SBCN, followed by choreography from Children Education ministry, special number by Seth Shohe, and blessings pronounced by Hetoli kinimi, women pastor, SBCN.
Vote of thanks was delivered by Kimiye Awomi, cultural secretary SSUNT and Zutovi, advisor SSUNT pronounced benediction. Officials from NASU, church staff and elders of Niuland attended the programme.
