Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) will undertake a joint verification in regard to traffic congestion at Kohima city for single lane parking spaces from June 1 to 7, 7 am onwards.
Kohima Municipal Council stated that this verification will be conducted in all 19 wards under its jurisdiction as per decision taken during the joint meeting held on May 14.
The meeting was to resolve for marking single lane parking spaces and conducting enforcement drives for off road vehicles & building materials.
A team comprising of district administration, traffic police, Kohima Municipal Council & ward chairman will be inspecting the wards. In this regard, the KMC has also requested the concern ward panchayats’ chairmen to accompany the verification team in their respective wards as per the date schedule: Ward 1 to 6 on June 1; Ward 7 to 10 on June 3; Ward 11 to 16 on June 6 and Ward 17 to 19 on June 7.
