
Intensified Diarrhoea Control Fortnight (IDCF) was successfully launched on May 28 in Peren district.
A press release from CMO office, district media officer, Pesanguno Celine Secii stated that, prior to launching of IDCF, sensitization and orientation on IDCF of health workers was carried out on May 7 by Dr. Nukshisangla, DPO, RCH/UIP. She highlighted about the goals and the focus of IDCF and the activities that needed to be carried out at the community and village level and at health facility level. She also briefed on the importance of how to prepare homemade ORS, demonstration of hand washing and appealed all the members and field workers present to give their full support and cooperation in carrying out the task.
IDCF campaign had all the health units covered, 1 district hospital, 1 CHC, 8 PHCs and 16 sub-centres and all the villages in the district.
Altogether 141 ASHAs are involved. A total of 7000 ORS sachet were distributed to all the health units and also to the ASHAs.
