
A one-day health mela was conducted at Akhegwo village under Meluri block, organized by the District Health Society under the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Phek on April 27.
A press release from CMO Phek district media officer, Kutolu Nakro stated that a total of 217 patients’ availed free check-ups and medicines.
Drop-out children and immunization missed out children were identified and vaccinated. Ante-Natal Check up (ANC) and Post-Natal Check up (PNC) and family planning services were provided at the mela.
The mela was conducted by a team of specialist doctors such as gynaecologists, physicians from the district hospital, program officers along with nurses, lap-technicians, counsellor, VCCM and DPMU staff led by the deputy CMO and CMO Phek.
IEC/BCC activities through focus group discussion with different target groups on different health issues were carried out by DPM, DCM and different vertical programmes.
A nutritional package (eggs) was given to all the pregnant women.
HIV & AIDS and malaria testing, and collection of sputum, HB% estimation for all ANC cases and deworming were also done.
A film on different health topics was shown to the community and leaflets printed in local dialects were also distributed. AB-PMJAY Beneficiary identification System (BIS) drive was also carried out at the mela.
