Phek MMU takes health care services to 11 villages

A Phek national Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) team of medical officers consisting of Dr. Limatoshi (epidiomologist) and Dr. Kuosalhou (MO Khuza), along with a lab-tech and a nurse, visited 11 villages during the month of April as part of the MMU’s monthly tour.

A press release from district media officer, Kutolu Nakro stated that different activities for different programs such as lab-tests for blood sugar, pregnancy tests & HB % estimation for all ANC cases, collection of blood smears/RDT test for malaria and sputum collection for TB were part of the health-care tour. Besides health care services, health talks on non-communicable diseases (NCD) were also given during the visits.

Altogether 535 OPDs were done, ANC cases were analyzed and immunization done. A total of 40 patients were referred to higher facilities and given family planning services. Villages visited by the MMU team were Sohomi, K. Khuno, Phek Basa, Lozaphuhu, Lanyezho, Tuzatsu, Kizari, Metsale, Khuza, Chepoketa and Akheqwo villages.

The team will be covering villages in other blocks in the month of May.
