Orientation programme for EVs held

Orientation of education volunteers (EVs) for out of school children (OoSC) was organized by district mission authority (DMA) and SCERT Kohima at SCERT conference hall on May 31.  

A press release from DMA Kohima assistant district coordinator, Thongsenlo stated that, the resource persons were reader SCERT Thungchibemo Lotha, co-ordinator and nodal officer (OoSC) SMA Puseto Tunyi, ADC, DMA Kohima Thongsenlo and project assistant DMA Kohima Theresa.

Kohima district have identified 400 plus children between the age group of 6 to 14 years from OoSC which means drop-out and never enrolled. Education volunteer (EVs) will therefore teach those children within three months and mainstream them to regular schooling as per his/her age appropriate class during midyear.

EVs were also taught to give tuition or classes to slow learners and poor in studies in the village/town and ward under Kohima district particularly for govt school children. Altogether 56 EVs attended the orientation programme.
