
Development Association of Nagaland (DAN) the official social developmental wing of the Catholic church diocese of Kohima, organized five-day teachers’ training at its training centre from May 27 to 31. A press release from DAN assistant programme manager Regina Kithan stated that, the training was conducted under its project, “The Morung”. Rev. Fr. S. Charles, director DAN lauded the teachers for volunteering themselves to give remedial classes to the slow learner students and to prevent school drop outs.
The resource persons were Shilu, joint director SCERT, Kekhreineinuo Sekhose research associate SCERT, Naroti academic assistance SCERT, Dr. Sukhanya Paul, reader SCERT, Peter, reader SCERT, Rev. Dr. Fr. Francis C.S principal St. Xavier’s College Jalukie, Tonika Yepthomi GT GHS Diphupar B, Rev. Dr. Fr. Joe Mariadhas, counsellor & asst. professor St. Joseph’s College Jakhama and Pikato, DCPO Dimapur district. 39 teachers (20 from private schools and 19 from Government schools) from 5 districts of Nagaland (Zunheboto, Tuensang, Phek, Mon and Dimapur) attended the training programme.
