Attestation parade of recruits held at ARTC&S

A total of 246 recruits including 12 mahila recruits who were attested after successful completion of their training at Assam Rifles Training Centre and School (ARTC&S), Shokhuvi on June 29 will be reporting for duty in different operational areas of the North East. 

A press release from offg SO-1 (Edn) for Comdt, Major Anshul Sundriyal stated that, Brigadier Arjun Segan, SM, DIG, ARTC&S reviewed the parade and in his address emphasized upon the rich victory and traditions of the Assam Rifles and the virtues of selfless service to the nation; besides complementing the passing out batch for their immaculate standards and enthusiasm. 
DIG highlighted that the Assam Rifles was the oldest Para Military force of the country has a diversified role which encompasses provision of internal security and developmental assistance to the civil population. The centre has been nominated as a “Centre of Excellence” for training in counter insurgency and jungle warfare and declared as the “Best Training Institute” at national level amongst all CAPFs by the Ministry of Home Affairs. 
DIG also presented awards to the passing out recruits for their outstanding performance during training. The attestation parade was commanded by Rifleman Gyaneshwor Y Singh, who also won the award of overall Best Recruit.
