DDF celebrates Doctor’s Day

Dimapur Doctor’s Forum (DDF) celebrated Doctor’s Day at Tourist Lodge Conference Hall, here on Monday.

Speaking at the programme as special guest, CMO, Dr. K Vikato Kinimi, expressed hope that the gathering would bring closeness and unity to the doctors of Dimapur. He called upon the doctors to unite and strive forward to serve the denizens in a better way.

Kinimi also reminded the gathering that Doctor’s Day was celebrated on July 1 across India to honour Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, a renowned physician and also the second Chief Minister of West Bengal.

He urged the gathering to follow Dr. Bidhan’s footsteps, who had brought laurels to the realms of medicines with his exemplary public service and as a legendary physician contributed to Indian medical scene.

He hoped that through this celebration, there will be unity among private and government doctors and DDF would grow to serve to the interest of the people.

Speaking about Doctor’s Day, Dr. Nitin Agarwal, said that it was a day for the doctors to feel proud and to be honoured, for the dedication and service rendered to society throughout the year.

He claimed that it was a day to rejoice the gratitude received from their patients.

He also said that it was a day to introspect and retrospect to work in times of shortcomings.

He further hoped through this celebration there will be joy and unity among the doctors.

He ended his speech by stating “doctor’s and patient’s relationship is undergoing a crisis and we should act now to save the sanctity of our professions, as doctors”.

Short speeches were also delivered by Dr. Kashito Zhimomi and Dr. Tali and the programme chaired by Dr. B Mozhui.
