Aug 16 killing: Don’t shield culprits, KYGK tells factions

Kulolau Yemishe Ghami Kuqhakulu (KYGK) Dimapur has affirmed that those persons involved in the dastard act of killing ‘lt.col.’ Toishe Yeptho must not be shielded under the guise of being ‘national worker’ and should be immediately terminated from the respective factions “if they (culprits) belong to any factions” so as to enable the law enforcing agency to pursue the matter as per the law of the land.

In a press release, KYGK president Vihoshe Awomi and general secretary Ayeho Z Ayemi also appealed to the investigating authority that “the accused in the cold-blooded murder” of its bona fide member cannot be condoned at any cost and should be booked and put to trial at the earliest. KYGK maintained that taking the life so easily without any culpable offence and taking law into their hands should not go unpunished in a civilized world. “It’s high time we set an exemplary punishment to those criminals,” KYGK stated. Further, KYGK affirmed that it was “totally against any factional hostility among brothers out of this issue or any form, killing among brothers cannot bring solution.” However, the KYGK asserted that it would not remain mute spectator till those persons involved in the killing were brought to book by the law enforcing agency under relevant sections of the law.
