DLSAs conduct workshops across Nagaland

District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) under Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA) conducted various trainings, workshops and awareness programmes across the state.

DDLSA: Dimapur DLSA on July 27 organised a workshop on basic procedure of law, Lok Adalat and money lenders Act at Lengrijan village, Dimapur. 
Panel lawyers, Zuchumbeni Ngullie, Nathaniel Kevichusa and Khumchuba Chang were the resource persons. The programme was chaired by project assistant, DDLSA, Sangto Longchar and CJM & secretary DDLSA, Ajongba Imchen exhorted the gathering.
MDLSA: Mon DLSA organised a legal awareness programme for DBs and GBs of Aboi Sub-division on July 26 at Aboi town. In a keynote address, chief judicial magistrate-cum-secretary Mon DLSA Seyielenuo Mezhii, spoke on the “basic procedures of law (Cr.Pc/C.Pc procedure) provided under Rules of Administration of justice & police. She said Nagaland State was “very unique” because of the special act under Article 371 in the Indian constitution.
EAC Aboi, Lithrila Sangtam asked DBs and GBs to be sincere and deliver justice as they implement the law and order at the grass root level. Panel Lawyer, Topha Konyak and retainer lawyer, M Moba also spoke at the programme. 
WDLSA: Wokha DLSA in collaboration with Opiod Substitution Therapy (OST), Sanis and Zion Welfare Society Tihad organised an activity of awareness with users on July 26 at Sanis Sub-division, Wokha district.  In a keynote address, judicial magistrate first class & secretary WDLSA, Khrievono Seletsu opined that many lives have been lost due to illegal movement and drugs abuse. She said that each person must contribute to tackle the problem of drug menace. 
EAC Sanis, Seyiekhrietuo Solo stated that the challenges being posed by the increasing drug abuse in a place like Sanis have reached a rising figure. 
Nodal officer OST Sanis, Dr. Eshenthung spoke on roles and benefits of OST; PM, Zion Welfare Society, Bichow Patton, spoke on harm reduction; panel lawyer, Renbonthung Tsanglao highlighted various government Welfare schemes and project assistant, Shanchobeni P Lotha spoke on NALSA (Legal Services to the Victims of Drug Abuse and Eradication of Drug Menace) Scheme 2015.
In a separate event, WDLSA held a legal awareness campaign for women and youths on Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act 2005 and training on paper bags/gift bags on July 27.
PDLSA: Phek DLSA organised Legal Literacy Class (LLC) with students of Phek Government College (PGC) on July 26. 
A press release from PDLSA, stated that resource persons, Retainer Lawyer, PDLSA, Mamang Singson, spoke on the topic, “Constitutional Rights and Duties”, and panel lawyer, PDLSA, Sekhotso Rhokha, spoke on the topic “Consumer Protection Act 1986”.
