Cleanliness drive at Dzükuo valley

Dzükou Valley has been declared as “Plastic Free Zone” by Southern Angami Youth Organisation (SAYO) on June 5, and as a follow-up initiative, Peace Channel (PC) and  Rovers & Rangers of Don Bosco College Kohima (DBCK), as a part of their yearly programme, on August 31 carried out cleanliness drive at the valley.

A press release from DBCK stated that, the day long programme started with a mass prayer at Viswema- Dzükou trekking point, where collection of wastes and garbage was carried out till Dzükou Valley. The collected wastes were disposed at Base Camp Dzükou and Viswema Point respectively. 

Viphreseno Yhokha, asstt. prof., coordinator of Peace Channel DBCK and Tsutshoweü, asstt. prof., coordinator of Rovers and Rangers, DBCK led the cleanliness drive.

Nagaland Association for Adventure Mountaineering and Education (NAAME) members also joined the team for the good cause. Cleanliness programme for the day was officially endorsed by SAYO.
