Awareness for Anganwadi, ASHA workers on BBBP

An awareness programme for anganwadi workers and ASHAs under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) organised by district administration and district level centre for women, Mahila Shakti Kendra Phek, in collaboration with department of Social Welfare and Health & Family Welfare was held on August 31 at Phek DC conference hall.

EAC HQ, Phek, Imliakum Sanglir in his keynote address highlighted the important role of anganwadi workers and ASHAs at the grass root levels. 

CDPO, Phek, Meshusayi Tetseo spoke on the “Role of anganwadi workers” and highlighted the different available services under ICDS programme. DPO (UIP/RCH) Dr. Kolhitso Khalo spoke on the “Role of ASHA workers” and stressed on the big responsibilities of ASHAs which determines the health of the community.

SDO (Civil) HQ. Phek T.Lemlila Sangtam spoke on gender sex ratio under BBBP perspective. Further she also mentioned the roles of anganwadi workers and ASHA workers which determine the successful implementation of BBBP scheme. 

District coordinator, DLCW MSK Phek, Avikuotho Ngouri chaired the programme. 

80 participants took part and the target group included anganwadi workers and ASHAs from Phek sadar and Khuza circle villages. IEC materials were distributed to the participants.
