AH&VS holds orientation for farmers

Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services (AH&VS) department conducted a combined block level orientation programme on training and capacity building under “National Livestock Mission 2018-19” for Kohima and Secü-Zubza block, with progressive farmers of piggery, poultry and dairy at CVO conference hall on August 30.

A press release from VAS vety dispensary Chiephobozou, Dr. Vikuolie Mezhatsu stated that, resource persons, Dr. Yawing Konyak deliberated on “importance of backyard farming for socio-economic upliftment and self employment”. Dr. Vinoto Ayemi briefed the farmers on “housing of livestock and poultry birds with emphasis on proper site selection” and Dr. Vilie Medoze on the “importance of AI technology in dairy and piggery in Nagaland”. CVO Kohima, Dr. Joseph M. Angami exhorted the farmers to take up livestock farming seriously by proper planning and setting a target.  Earlier, the programme was chaired by Dr. Elizabeth Yhome, VS, Vety. Hospital.
