Chakhro Southern Angami Union Dimapur (CSAUD) has expressed shocked over the fatal incident where one of its members was killed when the tree on the roadside fell on the taxi on July 26 at Chümoukedima.
In a condemnation note, CSAUD president, Er. Nizal Tepa has condemned the callousness and negligence of the agency that was responsible for the untimely death of its member.
CSAUD said that the incident was beyond comprehension and questioned how uprooting of trees was taking place at such peak hour of traffic which was well in their knowledge.
It added that the accident would definitely have been averted had proper and sufficient men power and district administration involvement was in place, saying that human lives cannot be sacrificed for the cause of development.
The union described that the deceased member late Kedichol was a government employee who had a bright future as a young and efficient government servant, adding that the future of the young family is now uncertain.
Therefore the union asked the agency/company to compensate the family to lighten the plight of the bereaved family.
Chakhro Southern Angami Union Dimapur also strongly appealed to the responsible agency/company and the district administration to strictly follow proper guidelines and regulations so that such accidents could be averted in near future.
The union conveyed its deepest condolence to the bereaved and traumatised family and prayed the Lord to give solace to the bereaved family bade the departed soul to rest in peace.
