NSDMA weather forecast updates

Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority, (NSDMA), Home department has informed that Nagaland, after witnessing on and off rains, would receive varied intensity of rainfall through the week. In a press release, OSD (NSDMA) Johnny Ruangmei, stated that rainfall activity on August 2 and August 3 in Nagaland would have moderate to heavy rains lashing the State across the 11 districts. Thereafter, on August 4, onward, the rainfall would be light to moderate in nature.

However, cloudy to overcast sky conditions would remain a highlight across the state.
Between August 4 and August 7, rain intensity would be less as a depression is likely to form in the Bay of Bengal, which would be responsible for pulling the moisture. After August 7, the atmospheric system would move inland and away from the region and the rains would once again pick up the pace over Nagaland. Therefore, between August 8 and 11, heavy rains are likely in many parts of the State. During this time, the southern districts would witness more monsoon rains than the northern parts.
Governmental departments responsible for roads and other infrastructures and the public have been advised to take precautionary measures during this period.
