
In view of fourth session of the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA), scheduled from August 6-8, 2019, the Kohima traffic police Saturday issued traffic regulations that would be enforced as part of the security arrangement.
In a press release, PRO Kohima police stated that only vehicles with the following car passes would be allowed entry to Assembly Secretariat: ‘A’ (White letter with Red background); ‘B’ (Black letter with Yellow background); ‘Assembly Logo’; ‘LH’ (White with Black Background); ‘O’ (White letter with Green Background) and ‘On Assembly Duty’ (Red letter with white background).
No vehicle would be allowed to be parked by the roadside from 6 a.m. onwards during Assembly Sessions at the following routes: from BSNL Telephone Exchange till Classic Island; from Raj Bhavan till M.S Classic Island; from Classic Island to Tinpati via Razhü point and Tinpati to Billy Graham Road via Don Bosco Jn. Heavy vehicles would not be allowed to ply from Tinpati Junction to Assembly Secretariat via Don Bosco Jn. All heavy vehicles including government department buses would take Tinpati-High School-Merima-Secretariat road vice versa.
Further, heavy vehicles would not be allowed to ply in Kohima town during Assembly Session, from 6am till the session was over. All loading and unloading of goods in Kohima town should be completed by 6am during Assembly Session. Heavy vehicles would not be allowed to be parked along ‘D’ Block road. The police cautioned that defaulting vehicles would be towed away and the charges would be borne by the vehicles owners.
