NCC CATC VII concludes at SSP

 DIMAPUR: Ten-day National Cadet Corps (NCC) Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC VII) 2019 which commenced on October 15 concluded on October 24 at Sainik School Punglwa.

135 cadets from junior and senior division participated in the camp and were imparted thorough training in various activities like weapon training, parade drill, range firing, map reading, disaster management, tent pitching, night marching and obstacle training.

After being trained on these activities, inter-company competitions were conducted as part of the camp.  As a part of social service cadets also conducted Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and Cancer awareness rally at Punglwa Village.

The camp was inspected by Col Avinash D Pitre, Offg Gp Cdr, Gp Hq, NCC Kohima on October 24 and he was accorded gourd of honour by the NCC cadets.

The Cadets were also given a demonstration, rescue operation, first aid and fire fighting by commandant of disaster management

On the final day, Lieutenant Kanu Barman presented the camp report followed by cultural programme staged by cadets of different ncc companies. Cadets presented solo song, group song, group dances and dramas.

During the closing ceremony chief guest Principal, Sainik School Punglwa, Gp Capt Prasun Basu, spoke about the immense role NCC plays in honing talents of the young and budding minds and also stressed upon the benefits of NCC certificates in joining the Indian armed forces.
