Vigilance awareness week observed

As part of the Vigilance Awareness Week from October 28 to November 2, 2019, various events were organised at Tetso College and DMI St. Joseph Global School on November 1.  

A short video clip competition under the theme ‘Integrity – A Way of Life’ was organized by Airports Authority of India, Dimapur Airport in collaboration with Tetso College at the college auditorium. Seven short video with two minutes each were screened.

The videos conveyed messages such as raising public awareness regarding the existence, causes, and gravity of and the threat posed by corruption. 

The students presented that corruption in all spheres of life can be overcome by practicing good moral value ethics such as honesty, integrity, fairness, respect for others and respect for the law.

At the end of the screening, Thoiba Koza of Class 12 Arts was declared the winner and received Rs. 2500 while Vilalhoulie Rupreo of Class 11 Arts and Iziedile of Class 12 Commerce stood second and third and were awarded Rs. 2000 and Rs. 1500 respectively.

Earlier, Salman Azhar, Junior Engineer (Technical), Dimapur Airport, represented the Airports Authority of India and spoke on the evils of corruption. He encouraged the students to take a stand and fight against corruption, adding that ethical conduct and integrity were essential elements of good governance.

Meanwhile, the college expressed gratitude to the Airports Authority of India for raising awareness on preventive vigilance measures and giving the students an opportunity to showcase their talents.

DMI St. Joseph Global School: DMI St. Joseph Global School organised a seminar on the topic “Observing Vigilance Week-2019” for classes 5 to 9.

A press release by DMI St. Joseph Global School, principal stated that school organized various activities like debate, elocution, drawing and painting, etc., in lieu of the topic through the week. 

Resource person were department of Civil Engineering, St. Joseph University assistant professor, Khekiye Aye.

The resource person stated that the occasion was observed in honour of India’s Iron Man, Sardar Vallabhai Patel whose birthday is observed as the vigilance week directed by the CBSE, Delhi. 

He reiterated that children at a young age must be made aware and vigilant of the happenings around them. 

He went on to state that students should imbibe morals and ethics at school life so that they will not give up in the future.
