Peace Channel conducted training on “importance of peace education in educational institutions” for peace educators on November 2 at Libemo Memorial School (LMS) Wokha.
A press release from Peace Channel stated that Garrol Lotha, project coordinator was the resource person for the training. She shared on how individuals having negative perspective towards conflict usually fall prey on conflict that gradually leads to violent conflict. She encouraged the participants to be analytical thinkers and deal with conflicting issues non-violently.
She also highlighted on the purpose of imparting peace education in the educational institutions. It will not only help the students but will also help the teachers to identify effective strategies and practices that could transform the school into a place of harmony and peace, she added. Vote of thanks was given by Vincent Kikon, Wokha district animator, Peace Channel.
