Public Action Committee (PAC), under the umbrella of Naga Council Dimapur (NCD), will be holding an emergency meeting with representatives of all the 19 Tribal bodies and frontal organisations of Dimapur, on October 1, 2019 at 11am at Tourist Lodge Dimapur.
This was informed by Co-Convenor, PAC, Ghokheto Chopy, to Nagaland Post, in a telephonic conversation.
PAC in its representation letter to the Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur, dated September 20, requested the same to immediately form a District Price Regulation Committee within a week to regulate and bring out rates for all commodities, failing which, PAC would impose indefinite ban at Dimapur.
Since the administration had not responded to the queries submitted by PAC, it was stated that PAC had no option to but to hold meeting with the tribal bodies to deliberate on what actions were to be taken. It was also learnt that department of Municipal Affairs, government of Nagaland, in a notification, stated that the system of leasing out collection of toll and urban utility fees to private parties will not be resumed after its current session of lease system expires, and henceforth, the DMC official will be the sole in charge of collection of the same.
