Dr. Nicky Kire inaugurates Urban Primary Health Centre in Kohima

Advisor, Urban Development and Municipal Affairs Dr.Nicky Kire inaugurated the Urban Primary Health Centre (UPHC) under National Urban Health Mission at Porterlane Kohima on Monday.
Addressing the launching programme, Dr. Kire hoped the community will make the best use of the centre and called for cooperation for better service.
While urging them to utilise the heath centre with responsibility, he said that the centre will improved the health status of the people. He reminded the ASHAs workers and staff to work with responsibility during the immunisation services.
State Nodal officers NUHM, Dr.Pusa Leigise said that the department has so far inaugurated seven urban primary health centres in the state.  With two primary health centres in Kohima, two from Dimapur, one each from Mokokchung,Tuensang and Wokha.
Dr. Pusa informed that the department will be looking forward to develop more ASHAs and Mahila Arogya Samiti (MAS) in the state. He also encouraged the mothers to maintain regular check up to avail the treatment.
He further informed that the department will be launching Urban Primary Health Centre in Mon and Zunheboto district soon.
Short speech was delivered by Poterlane Panchayat chairman Thepfurokuo Chaya, vote of thanks by chief medical officer Kohima Dr. Laso Lazar and invocation by Minister’s Hill Baptist Church Pastors’ Mentor Tepusaha Tase.
