Landslide disrupts traffic on NH-29

National Highway 29 between Kohima and Dimapur was on Tuesday blocked by massive landslide near Zubza leaving many vehicles stranded and causing huge traffic snarl. A truck that was stranded due to road blockade was taken away by landslide, but was recovered in the evening. There was no report of any casualty. 

Restoration work is underway and the road is expected to be cleared soon. DSP Traffic Kohima told Nagaland Post that the one way road has been made for emergency. DSP Traffic said that light vehicles have been diverted to Peducha (10 Mile) road. He stated that two-way traffic would be restored by October 2 if there is no rainfall tonight. Traffic police have advised heavy vehicles not to ply the road till the road was restored.
