Ravi, NSCN (I-M) to meet in Delhi today

After concluding the over 22 years of endless and protracted negotiations on October 31, the government of India and NSCN (I-M) would be meeting in New Delhi Saturday to work on the “loose ends” before concluding the ongoing Naga Peace Process.

Reliable sources informed Nagaland Post that government of India representative and Interlocutor for Naga Peace Talks, R.N Ravi would meet NSCN (I-M) negotiators led by its chief negotiator, Th. Muivah, Saturday for a discourse on the competencies.

Sources maintained that the two parties still have to work on the competencies and that this task may not be a “cakewalk” as most have presumed.

NSCN (I-M) sources also confirmed that a meeting has been scheduled between the two parties, but added that the meeting was not for “anything specific”.

Earlier, in an exclusive interview to Nagaland Post, Interlocutor Ravi had stated after meeting the three-month deadline to conclude negotiations on contentious issues by October 31, “some loose ends” have to be tied before inking the final agreement.

He also made it clear that it would be premature to set a time-frame for concluding the Naga Peace Process. However, he asserted that all negotiating parties (government of India, NSCN (I-M) and WC of NNPGs) would strive to conclude the Naga Peace Process as soon as possible.
