Gov bats for cleanliness

On the occasion of 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the Governor of Nagaland, RN Ravi, has urged the people of the state to pay Mahatma a worthy homage by keeping surroundings clean, saying cleanliness – physical and spiritual – was at the core of Mahatma’s way of life and his philosophy.

In his message, Ravi said that for Mahatma, cleanliness was more than mere physical and it included honesty and integrity of conduct – individual and collectives. “I urge upon our people – be they in the Government or society to pledge our-self to a ceaseless commitment to honesty and integrity in our individual and institutional lives,” said governor, adding that this would mark the beginning of achieving “our goal” of a peaceful and prosperous Nagaland.
