Public Action Committee (PAC) has expressed shock over the audio recording of conversation between Puja committee secretary Dimapur and two individuals allegedly representing NSCN (I-M), who allegedly made demand for pandal construction.
PAC through its media cell said the conversation “clearly” revealed that the cadres resorted to extort even on puja pandal construction. Describing the act as “a big disgrace not only to the Nagas as a whole but to the group they belong to”, PAC said it was a shame and disgrace that persons who claimed to be nationalist can stoop so low.
In this regard, PAC has urged the police and administration to immediately identify the persons behind “this day light extortion” and bring them to book.
PAC also appealed to the NSCN (I-M) to take stern disciplinary action against those cadres and “make known to public their identities and punishments imposed immediately.”
Strongly condemning the act, the PAC has called upon all sections of civil society to condemn, expose and “root out such individuals who not only tarnish the name of the group but bring shame to Nagas as a whole.”
