After remaining stagnant for a day, the retail prices of petrol and diesel were lowered on Thursday across major cities of the country. The retail prices of petrol were slashed by 5 paise while diesel prices were cut by 6 paise.
In New Delhi, petrol prices declined by 5 paise to Rs 73.54 a litre on Thursday as against Rs 73.59 on Wednesday. Diesel prices, on the other hand, became cheaper by 6 paise to Rs 66.75 a litre as compared with Rs 66.81 yesterday’s price.
In Dimapur, the retail prices of petrol and diesel were Rs. 71.46 a litre and Rs.64.52 a litre respectively, according to data available on Indian Oil Corporation website.
Similarly, in the state capital Kohima, petrol price stood at Rs.72.28 a litre and diesel was retailing sold at Rs. 65.14 per litre.
Fuel prices have shown a steady decline after a continuous rise for several days last month.
Currently, the prices of petrol and diesel are reviewed by oil marketing companies such as state-run Indian Oil on a daily basis, and any revisions implemented at fuel stations with effect from 6 am.
