
Kohima College in collaboration with Nagaland Pollution Control Board (NPCB) organised clean air campaign with the theme “Clean Air: Life will be rare without fresh air” 6 at Kohima College here on Tuesday.
Special Guest, Nagaland pollution control board member secretary, Kenei Miachieo in his keynote address encouraged the students to take an example of a 21-year-old Mayank Pratap Singh, who became India’s youngest judge by topping the Rajasthan Judicial Services (RJS) examination.
He advised the students to preserve notes from school and college and use them while preparing for competitive exams.
He lamented that the despite NPCB monitoring the air quality of Kohima and Dimapur over the past 3-4 years, these two cities were among the 102 cities in the country which has very poor quality of air. However, he hoped that through this campaign students will take the responsibility to spread awareness to others.
Kohima College principal Ralimongla delivered the welcome address.
Competition on essay, speech and model projects following theme “Clean Air: Life will be rare without fresh air” were held among the nine invited colleges of Kohima.
The essay completion was won by Ankita Priyadarshini of Don Bosco College followed by Wechieü of Kohima College and Kesenle Kez Mount Olive Kohima in second and third positions.
In model project, Kohima College won the first position while the second and third positions went to Baptist College and Oriental College.
In prepared speech competition, Chongpei Singson of Modern College won the first position followed by Santaki of Kohima College and Ruopfüzhano of Capital College in second and third positions.
