In view of the indefinite ‘chakha bandh’ in the district, the Mokokchung Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MCCI) has announced that there was enough stock of essential commodities in the market, which should sustain at least two weeks under normal conditions. In this regard, MCCI has appealed to public not to resort to panic shopping or hoarding. MCCI has also directed traders not to indulge in any unethical and illegal market practices taking undue advantage of the situation like hiking prices of essential commodities. It warned that any trader found indulging in such practices would be dealt with severely.
Meanwhile, MCCI has requested MDCVOA and the government to find a solution at the earliest so that normal life in the district was not hampered.
