Mokokchung District Commercial Vehicle Owners Association (MDCVOA) has temporarily suspended the indefinite ‘Chakka bandh’ that began on October 21, 2019.
Speaking to media persons, MDCVOA officials said that the bandh has been temporarily called off on the request from the district administration and civil society groups including Ao Senden, Mokokchung Town Aor Telongjem and All Ward Union.
Besides, the union said the district administration and the RTO office have assured to take up their grievances with the higher authority.
MDCVOA has expressed gratitude to Tuensang, Zunheboto, Longleng, Noklak, Peren and Phek districts, for observing the ‘chakka bandh’ along with Mokokchung district.
Meanwhile, Zunheboto District Commercial Vehicle Owners’ Association while supporting MDCVOA has appealed to the state government to intervene and resolve the matter at the earliest.
