
To commemorate World AIDS Day, one day seminar on “Ending the HIV & AIDS epidemic: Community by community” was organised by Red Ribbon Club (RRC) and Zoology department of St. John College (SJC) Dimapur on November 30.
A press release by the college stated that RRC convenor, Dr. Puhar Daimari opened the event by highlighting the importance and role of the club.
SJC principal, Professor, S.T. Janetius emphasised on how counselling services can provide support to the HIV and AIDS patients and their families.
Chief guest of the seminar, Akimbo Society Dimapur, project manager, Nathaniel Bagh said the society work among commercial sex workers and injecting drug users.
The release stated that Bagh elaborated on the HIV and AIDS epidemic and the current scenario in Dimapur and Nagaland as a whole.
A total of 64 students attended the seminar along with four faculty members. The programme was chaired by Nikita Bhargava, B.Sc 4th semester.
