RTIIN tenders apology; withdraws ultimatum on govt

RTI Initiative Nagaland (RTIIN) has tendered apology for its statement that was published on October 20, 2019 accusing the department of misappropriating amount sanctioned for the training of teacher trainees of NIOS offline D.El.Ed 2014-16 batch.

In a press release, the two RTI activists Odi Jamir and ST Yapang Lkr of RTI Initiative Nagaland also clarified that collection of Rs. 6000 each from D.El.Ed 2014-16 trainees for 2nd year course fee was done by the Department of School Education and not by SCERT.
Further, the duo stated that keeping mind the welfare of the teacher trainees they have also decided to withdraw the 20-day ultimatum served on the department to refund the amount to the teacher trainees.
The duo stated that if the amount was to be refund, it would take time to get certificate, which would affect further studies of the trainees. They said that there were many teachers who were willing to go further studies and required professional training certificate.
