Workshop on measles elimination & rubella control

One day district level workshop on measles elimination and rubella control was held on December 14 at the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Longleng office.

A press release from CMO Longleng office stated that resource person, RRT World Health Organization (WHO), Dr Victoria updated the participants on the global and national status and gave a way-forward for measles elimination and rubella control.

Dr Victoria also gave a detailed reason and clarification on types of surveillance, the key strategies for measles elimination and rubella control and also briefed the participants on several other points.

DPO (RCH/UIP) Dr Imnameren Phom spoke on district update on AFP-MR surveillance and progress in MR elimination, HRA reprioritization using surveillance data, and district weekly review meeting. 

The workshop was attended by deputy CMO Dr Philip Kent, all the medical officers from the health units, district community mobilizer, VCCM UNDP, vaccinators, ASHA coordinators from three blocks, and community health officers.
