NPFLP asks for CEC meet to discuss MPs stand on CAB

NPF Legislature Party (NPFLP) has asked party president Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu to convene an emergency meeting of the Central Executive Council (CEC) to deliberate on the stand taken by two NPF members of parliament– KG Kenye (RS, Nagaland) and Lorho Pfoze (Lok Sabha MP from Manipur) on the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill.

This was among the three-point resolution adopted at the meeting of the legislature party held on December 12 at the residence of the legislature party leader, T.R. Zeliang.

Both the MPs had voted in favour of the Bill in the recent Parliament session.

The party also resolved to challenge the inaction of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly Speaker on the disqualification petition filed against the seven dissident NPF MLAs in the court of law.

Meanwhile, the opposition party appreciated the state government for extending promulgation of Inner Line Permit (ILP) to Dimapur district, adding that its had been the demand of the NPF party.
