Awareness programme on violence against women and women centric schemes was conducted at various schools in Mokokchung town from November 22 till December 16.
A press release from women welfare officer (DLCW-MSK) Mokokchung, Moamenla stated that, there was also distribution of sanitary napkins in the schools and a survey was also conducted.
Programme was organised by the district administration in collaboration with district level centre for women (Mahila Shakti Kendra) under the banner of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao.
During the programme, different services provided by for the women in case of emergency which are women helpline 181, Sakhi one stop centre, legal aid services, counselling service and different helpline numbers which will be available 24×7 for the welfare of a woman were shared. Government schemes/ programmes, training and capacity building for empowerment of rural women were also shared during the awareness.
Distribution of personal hygiene kit and awareness programme on personal hygiene for women was also conducted in Amenyong sector Khensa village, Aliba village and Alongchen compound Sungratsu village.
