29th Kuki general conference-cum-election

Kuki Organization Nagaland (KON) conducted the 29th general conference-cum-election with the theme, “Honouring the past, treasuring the present and shaping the future” on December 17 at Maova village, Dimapur.

According to DIPR report, advisor, Sericulture, Excise and Minority Affairs, Zhaleo Rio, gracing the occasion, considered it to be a privilege to be among the Maova people. He mentioned the efforts made by youths, officers and villagers for the successful conference and was encouraged to see many youths and students who were awarded certificate for their achievements in various fields, in schools universities, grant services and aesthetic.

Zhaleo spoke on the conference theme, urging all the people to maintain and preserve the identity and culture of past history and also the need to retrospect the good qualities of “our” parents and forefathers.

He also reminded that government policy and scheme benefits for under privileged people, “Nagaland is the land of opportunities,”  he said. He called upon all the youths to be dedicated and turn dreams into reality. He also urged the student leaders and youths to provide the right kind of leadership and urged all the NGOs, organisations, leaders to come together under one platform and make the Naga dream a reality. The ongoing three-day Kuki students’ general conference which began on December 16 will conclude on December 18.
