Pungro hosts ‘4th kholar festival’

The 4th edition of “kholar festival” was held under the theme “celebrating our unity” on December 19 at Pungro Public Ground with Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Pungro, Abhinav Shivam as the special guest.

According to DIPR report, the festival was organised by the administration and NGOs of Pungro sub- division in collaboration with DUDA, NEIDA and governmental departments.

Speaking on the occasion, Abhinav Shivam stressed on the nutritional value of “kholar” and called upon the farmers and villagers to make agriculture a priority and also to collaborate for marketing of the products.

Folk song competition, kholar eating competition, top spinning, khuyie and arrow shooting competition were the other highlights of the day.  The special guest also inaugurated the 45 exhibition stalls put up by the neighbouring villages.
