LKYO celebrates silver jubilee

The combined celebration of Laza Khuluqa Youth Organization (LKYO) silver jubilee and 50 years of establishment of Khuluqa colony at Lazami village was held on December 21.

According to the organising committee, the celebration was graced by commissioner and secretary, Y. Kikheto Sema as special guest.

In his address, he called for forgiving each others’ misdeeds on a daily basis and not only during celebration of jubilees or other occasions. Recalling that it was only during the celebration of jubilees people talk about forgiving each others’ mistakes, he reminded the gathering to let every day be a jubilee and forgive one another of any misdeeds.

On the occasion, Kikheto also appealed to the gathering to acknowledge the contribution of the pioneers and introspect the positive and negative aspects of the years gone by.

He also reminded that the state government had banned celebration of jubilees by the departments taking into account the amount of resources that could go wasted.

“Our society celebrates various occasions and especially during jubilees lot of resources are spent. Sometimes, argument/quarrels erupt after such celebration for reasons best known to those people thereby instead of receiving blessings from God we quarrel among ourselves,” he pointed out.

He also encouraged the youngsters to be SMART if they wanted to achieve their goals adding that SMART stands for Specific goal, Measurable and tangible, Achievable, Relevant or Realistic and Time bound. Earlier, Kikheto unveiled the jubilee monolith.

In the programme, Tokiho jubilee convenor delivered the welcome address while chairman of Lazami Village council, Saluvi delivered greetings.
