Nagaland chief secretary Temjen Toy expressed dismay over poor attendance of government employees in the state secretariat as well as in the directorates and warned of strict action against those still absenting from work.
Toy issued the warning during an interaction with officials of the Information & Public Relation department. He said after enjoying long vacation, the government officers and employees were expected to join work and serve the people and the government with renewed spirit and vigour. “As responsible government officials one is expected to be sincere and dedicated,” Toy was quoted to have said at the meeting.
Toy cautioned that if attendance continued to remain poor, the government would be compelled to invoke the principle of “No Work No Pay”. He, therefore, urged all government employees to attend office regularly and carry out their assigned responsibilities for smooth flow of official works on time, a DIPR report stated.
