Cornerstone Higher Secondary School holds Fresher’s Meet

Cornerstone Higher Secondary School (CHSS) Duncan, Dimapur held its fresher’s meet, on Saturday at the school auditorium with Commissioner of Police Dimapur, Limasunep Jamir as the special guest.
Exhorting the students during the program, Jamir said that he was always honoured to come to educational institution because he had also been a student once. He explained that he was always reminded of his journey and experiences of being a student when he sees the innocence, joy, hopes, expectations and dreams in the students. He said he was happy to see the Mr. and Miss Fresher contestants, with their immense aspirations, desires and their ambitions. Jamir also said the positive minds and attitudes of the students was an inspiration. He encouraged them to always think and aspire with the same attitude.
Jamir explained the meaning of a corner or cap stone, saying that it was a very important part of any building. “To build a house or building, there must be a cornerstone,” he added.
Jamir went on to say that the sole responsibility of a student was to study hard because study had no substitutes. “Nobody can achieve success without hard work” he asserted and urged them to be good students and not be distracted from the pursuit of  knowledge. He also spoke about the reading habit and encouraged the students to read more and make reading a part of their lives.
