SEFTI organizes awareness program on forest fires

State Environment & Forestry Training Institute (SEFTI), Nagaland conducted a one day awareness program on “Forest Fires & its safety measures” at Government High School Sarbura, Kashiram on June 29. 
A press release from director SEFTI Nagaland, K. Hukato Chishi stated that to make the awareness program more effective and interactive, a different approach method was adopted. In the first session, an interactive classroom session was held by engaging 25 resource persons from the SEFTI institute for all the classes or sections i.e. from class VI to X. 
In the second session, a quiz competition for class IX & X and painting and slogan competitions from class VI to VIII on the theme “Forest fire” was held. For the quiz, painting and slogan competition, three winners for each competition from each class or section were selected and awarded certificates and cash prizes. Display of forest fire fighting tools, fixing forest fire hoardings inside the school campus, and distribution of ornamental tree seedlings were other activities of the day.
