Dimapur Police has released its crime report for the months of June to July 2018. According to additional deputy commissioner of Police/PRO, Dimapur, Dimapur Police arrested one person, Tovi Yeptho (26 years) “ss secy” NNC Non-Accordist on June 25 on charges of extortion at Lotha Church Construction site Dimapur. The PRO stated that a copy of an assignment order NNC-Non Accordist, copy of GPRN secretarial tatar hoho parliamentary etiquette along with a list of several businessmen were seized from his possession. A case has been registered at West Police Station.
On June 30, Dimapur Police arrested one Inato Chophy 26 years, Po/Ps Aghunato, on extortion charges at Ghorapati area. Cash amounting Rs. 11,500 was seized from his possession. In this connection a case has been registered at East Police Station. Dimapur Police also arrested one Husuka Achumi (36 years) of NNC (N/A) at a petrol pump in Purana Bazar on July 2. One extortion slip and cash amounting to Rs.10,000 were seized from his possession. A case has been registered at East Police Station.
With the above three latest arrests, a total of 107 persons have been arrested by the Dimapur Law Enforcement Agency and 70 criminal cases registered at various police stations on extortion related offences for the period January to June 2018. For the same time period mentioned, a cumulative total of Rs 10,22,457 and 10 weapons with 183 assorted caliber ammunition have been seized and forwarded to judicial custody.
In a related incident on June 26, one female, Lokho Adaphro, W/o Mapao Khulen, Senapati was arrested by Dimapur Police for illegal possession of 14 grams heroin from Blue Hill line area. A case has been registered in Women PS and investigation is going on.
On July 1, Atoka (27 years) P/A LRC Colony Dimapur was apprehended by Dimapur Police for illegal transportation of 44 (forty-four) cases of IMFL, at old over Bridge (Burma Camp area). In this regard a case has been registered in East Police Station and investigations are on.
