Phek district administration and district level centre for women-Mahila Shakti Kendra, Phek, visited jail inmates and children’s homes on February 21, at Phek district, under the aegis of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) scheme.
A press release issued by MSK stated that, agency visited three children’s homes and Phek District Jail and distributed 6 gift packs to children and prisoners.
During the visitation, SDO (civil) and nodal officer BBBP Phek, Bhavani Sri, encouraged prisoners to learn from their mistakes and live a transformed life.
She further appreciated initiative taken by jail authority to train and employ inmates in various handicrafts and bamboo products manufacturing.
Team also visited Vision Shelter Home, Versatile Children Home Society and Observation Home respectively.
During the visitations, WWO, DLCW, MSK Phek, Vileno Kapu encouraged the children not to lose heart but stay strong and excel in whatever they do.
