
Five-day weaving workshop programme commenced Monday, at Seluophe amphitheatre, organized by Miqlat Ministry in collaboration with village councils, churches, youth and students body of Seluophe, Singrijan and Khopanala village.
In commemoration of International Women’s Day which is observed on March 8, Miqlat Ministry has scheduled various activity programmes for village council leaders, women and children, church leaders, youth and students for the welfare of the community in particular.
The weaving workshop programme is also part of the activity which commenced with 30 active participants. The workshop was carried out by three team members from Antaran Weaving Workshop of Tata Trust implemented by North East Initiative Development Agency (NEIDA). The weaving workshop will culminate on March 6.
Besides, the weaving workshop various other activities has also been scheduled to be conducted on topic such as “good governance of a village”, “women/children rights and issues”, “stronger together” “dignity of labor & career guidance” and “Women empowerment” respectively which will be carried out by resource persons March 3 to 6.
The five-day workshop event will culminate on March 7, commemorating stronger together, International Women’s Day-cum-spring fest programme under the theme “An equal world is an enabled world” with advisor of Sericulture, Excise and Minority Affairs Zhaleo Rio as special guest of the event.
