Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) of Nagaland conducted workshop on implementation of public financial management system (PFMS) under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) with the initiative of GoI Ministry of Jal Shakti department of Drinking Water and Sanitation Mission at NIELIT Meriema, Kohima on Tuesday.
Resource persons of the workshop were PFMS consultant, Jal Shakti Ministry, GoI Tikeshwar Singh and, section officer, Jal Shakti Ministry, GoI Vikash Kumar.
Earlier, programme was chaired by chief engineer PHED Er. Repang Longkumer, keynote address on behalf of the department was presented by, principal secretary, PHED M K Mero, while an introduction of workshop was delivered by Vikash Kumar, section officer, Jal Shakti Ministry, GoI and the highlights of implementation on PFMS was delivered by Vishito Kulnu, asst. account officer from Ministry of Finance.
It may be mentioned that this particular major objective mission is to provide functional household tap connection (FHTC) to every rural household by 2024. Officials from all districts of Nagaland from each divisions of PHED participated at the workshop.
Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) is to provide drinking water to rural households, the plan will feed into the district and state plans which is centre’s most recent flagship scheme, a mission for water supply, safe drinking and to tackle water crisis.
